We are looking for multiple Safety Engineers on behalf of a fantastic client in the Medical sector that is keen to employ more Safety Engineers and has a very open mind to the background the perfect person may come from.
We would love to speak to anybody that has worked in Technical Safety Engineering (not Health and Safety) within a safety critical industry, this could be Oil and Gas, Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Nuclear Power or maybe Automotive, all are very much of interest.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a new sector by employing the Safety Engineering skills you have gained elsewhere, these chances don't come around often so if you are growing a little tired of working on the same types of projects over and over again this could be your escape route !
Knowledge / Skills:
Safety Standards such as ISO 14971 or IEC 61508 or IEC 61511.
Risk Management policy and general principles.
Applying Hazard Identification processes.
Safety Case report writing.
Technical documentation review.
Strong communication skills.
Able to use your own initiative, and escalate issues when necessary.
Plan Safety activities appropriate to the size of the project / product you are working on.
Continue to follow your Safety Plan / activities throughout the process.
Ensure suitable Safety Engineering techniques are applied throughout the project to analyse design, identify hazards, estimate risk and produce evidence of your analysis.
Employ relevant risk control measures.
Review the Safety Engineering activities for effectiveness and prepare a safety case that argues activities for the project have sufficient progress.
Create and review risk assessments.
Create Safety Risk Management Plans and Safety Reports.
Addition to and review of the Product Hazard Analysis in the internal Hazard Database.
