Safety Engineer needed for a global defence organisation based in Wolverhampton who are looking to employ a Safety Engineer with some knowledge of Fault Tree Analysis, ALARP Principles and Product Safety in the UK Defence Industry.

What the role entails:
The main duties of the Safety Engineer role will include:
- Writing safety engineering appraisals and safety case reports
- Undertaking hazard identification and analysis
- Undertaking analysis such as Failure Modes, Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
- Creating and maintaining a hazard log
- Undertaking safety evaluation of engineering designs
- Providing safety engineering support and advice across all engineering functions
- Working with customers to ensure equipment is compliant with MOD ALARP principles
What you need to be successful in this role of Safety Engineer:
In order to be the successful Safety Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally have the following:
Product safety experience from a safety critical and regulated industry
Knowledge and experience of applying a range of techniques in conducting Hazard Identification and Analysis and Risk Assessments
Knowledge and experience of producing robust ALARP and safety arguments
Engineering background ideally within the defence industry
Knowledge and experience of applying safety management processes ideally within the CADMID cycle and / or the Systems Engineering 'V' model
What we're looking for:
You will have the ability to work as part of a project team and autonomously when required, with a proactive approach to your work. You must also be methodical with excellent attention to detail to enable you to structure reasoned arguments. Being a strong communicator at all levels, you will have the ability to confidently articulate technical safety information to a variety of stakeholders.
Must be eligible for Security Clearance
