We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior System Safety Engineer to join our clients existing Air Safety Team. We are looking for someone that is experienced in system safety within the aviation / aerospace industry in the UK.
This role is a unique and exciting challenge with the opportunity to work on the latest engineering developments in the future of aircraft technology.
You will be joining a highly driven and motivated team comprised of leading aerospace and technology experts as well as some of the finest engineers around.
Role Summary:
- Lead a team of System Safety Engineers through new aircraft development, certification and into service.
- Deliver safety activities (Functional Hazard Assessments, System Safety Assessments and Aircraft Survivability Analyses) for the technology demonstrator / certification aircraft.
- Be the primary safety interface for all aircraft integration activities and provide safety solutions to problems that are defensible and auditable.
- Produce the Safety Case.
- Collaborate, with (and where necessary, provide advice to the) Design / Programme Teams on all aspects of system safety.
- Ensure all work completed by the Safety Team is in line with regulation, policy and procedures.
- Contribute to the development / continuous improvement of the operating framework of Aircraft Safety Team.
- Participate in the international evolution of safety standards.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experienced Safety Case Author.
- Air Safety experience working in the UK.
- Background in the design and development of safety-critical systems.
- Significant demonstrable experience of aircraft and/or system level safety assessments.
- Knowledge of SAE ARP 4754A / 4761.
- Fault tree analysis tools (Reliability Work Bench/FT+ preferred).
- Strong analytical skills to examine evidence to support a safety argument.
- Demonstrable experience of coordinating the activities of a Safety Team to deliver on-time.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting project specific deadlines.
- Fluent in English. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
