Job responsibilities

As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering new product developments by contributing to the successful completion of product creation projects. This shall be achieved by coordinating work through small teams of in-house and outsourced engineers. The role will be working in a scrum team as part of an Agile Release Train following Scaled Agile (SAFe).

  • Design, develop and maintain the control system and related applications; formulating and analysing high level requirements to develop software engineering solutions ·
  • Create detailed engineering work plans and requirement specifications.
  • Maintaining and enhancing Software quality metrics including test coverage and code maintainability; ensuring the code and the system is well tested and of sufficient quality for full solution testing.
  • Contribute as needed to enhance our CI/CD pipeline and test automation environments, enabling fast and effective delivery and deployment.
  • Working as part of a scrum team to not only deliver your own tasks but assist others where priorities require it, or impediments exist.
  • Participation in safety analysis, raising of safety issues and involvement in creation of tracible hazard mitigation.
  • Ability to switch support to high priority (e.g. customer) issues where required.
  • Proactivity and anticipation of stakeholder needs. · Ability to assist and develop others.

What we believe you have

  • Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Conversant with writing real time Embedded real-time C/C++
  • Embedded and/or Real Time Environments
  • Experience of implementing comms protocols like USB, CAN, Ethernet, SPI/I2C
  • Unit testing and Experience of CI/CD
  • Understanding and experience of the overall SDLC for application development
  • Understanding and experience of Agile.
