An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly regarded engineering consultancy based in Birmingham. The Senior Planning Engineer will join the growing planning and project controls department of a multi-disciplinary consultancy that provide their clients with technical engineering solutions for major projects across the UK.
The Senior Planning Engineer will be involved on large iconic projects, major infrastructure schemes across the UK. The Senior Planning Engineer will need to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully fulfilling planning roles on complex multidisciplinary contracts within the UK and advanced Primavera P6 skills.

Duties
- Produce comprehensive and professional programmes and project controls materials for bids and projects in line with the required timescales
- Ensure Baseline programmes are in place and accepted by the client to form the basis to capture change and demonstrate cause and effect
- Analyse performance of planning and project control material and advise the project team of likely impact and recommend improvements/mitigation
- Ensure the project team is aware of and understands the programme, project drivers, key deliverable, critical and sub critical paths
Candidate
- Experience and proven track record of successfully fulfilling planning roles on complex multidisciplinary contracts, particularly NEC contracts
- Technical and commercial background in Civils / Rail sector
- Experience and proven track record of managing and delivering through others
- Applied understanding contracts and their application to Projects/Bids
- Expert in the use of planning software and associated applications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced/Expert knowledge of various planning systems and techniques
- Ideally HND/HNC or Degree in Engineering or similar
