Senior Quantity Surveyor
£58,000 to £60,000 + £7,000 car & package
I have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's leading infrastructure contractors with a specialist business unit focused on delivering work for clients including UKPN, SSE & National Grid. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with the day to day commercial delivery of a secured project for an important client local to Kettering.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager of this specialist business unit, you'll be tasked with mentoring a small team of 2-3 surveyors on a £12m, NEC Option A new build that includes the construction of a new substation to supply a new Network Rail ATFS. The programme also includes connection of two new large Super Grid Transformers. Alongside your mentoring role, you'll also be heavily involved with procurement, contract administration, subcontract management, cost reporting and final account negotiation.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be instrumental in the successful delivery of the contract which in turn will ensure repeat work from this large, high profile client. You'll be given the support to pursue chartership with the RICS, the opportunity to take full control of your project and a competitive salary & package that includes:
- Starting salary of up to £60,000
- Company car or car allowance of £7,000
- 27 days annual leave
- Private pension contributions
- Private healthcare
- Payment of professional fees
Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have experience working for a main contractor and familiar with large utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering projects. You'll need to be confident working with clients, have a strong understanding on the NEC contract and excellent communication skills. You'll also need to have a degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management. You'll also need to be willing to travel to their main office in London as required.
