Senior Quantity Surveyor
£62,000 to £70,000 + Package
I have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join to a leading main contractor in the capital with a growing pipeline of projects covering new builds and major refurbishments for schools and public buildings. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll initially be based on a Central London project and responsible for the day to day commercial management of a team of 2-3 surveyors from Assistants through to Project QS's. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, Some of your duties will include:
- The Analysis of tenders
- Measurement and valuation of subcontract works
- Contract negotiation
- Subcontract payments, procurement and final account negotiation
- Acting as a mentor to less experienced Quantity Surveyors
- Providing commercial advice and direction to colleagues and site based teams
- Value Engineering

Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have at least 3 years experience working for a main contractor on new builds and/or refurbishment projects with build costs of >£1m. You'll need to have excellent communication skills, sound contract knowledge and a willingness to push your career forward. You'll also need to be confident when managing others and comfortable passing on knowledge, advice and guidance where required.
