Senior Quantity Surveyor

£60,000 to £70,000 + package
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading fit out & refurbishment contractor based in Croydon. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining an experienced and friendly team delivering a variety of projects for both private & public sector clients across London & the Home Counties. These projects will typically have build values of between £2m and £12m and include refurbishment, new build and fit out works.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will initially be supporting the team on a hospital project that includes the refurbishment of wards, treatment rooms and waiting areas and a commercial refurbishment that includes a vertical extension. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, some of your key duties will include:
- Monitoring the ongoing project costs against budgets, enhancing value for money whilst ensuring quality and standards are maintained
- Offering commercial support and guidance to the project team
- Overseeing and supervising on the procurement process
- Manage large subcontract packages
- Contract negotiation
- Agreeing final accounts with subcontractors
Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity must have previous experience working within the UK's new build or refurbishment sectors for a main contractor. You'll need excellent communication skills, be commercially aware and have a sound understanding of the JCT building contract.
