Senior Quantity Surveyor

£50,000 to £60,000 + car allowance & package
We have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a busy and growing business delivering fibre optic network across a large stretch of Yorkshire. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will form a key part of the teams future and take responsibility for the delivery of a growing contract with a key client.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the day to day development of a small team of 4 Quantity Surveyors at varying stages of their careers. Your aim will be to maximise project margins, adding value to the construction processes by offering advice at procurement stage and offering effective cost management and reporting. Some of your other duties will include:
- Preparing cost analysis based off drawings, engineering estimates, material lists and labour projections
- Preparing the right tender & contract documents
- Evaluating tender returns from Subcontractors and suppliers and negotiate where required
- Monitor project progress
- Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress
- Offer advice to the project team on contractual and commercial matters
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will need to have previous experience working on a fibre optic/telecoms, utilities or civils contract alongside strong NEC3 knowledge and excellent communication skills. You'll need to live within a reasonable commute of Leeds and confident when working closely with the client and colleagues.
