Brief
Senior Strategic Buyer needed for a well-known medical device's organisation based in West Sussex who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Senior Strategic Buyer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of Contract management, Supply Chains & Negotiations as well as having excellent stakeholder management.
The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant degree - i.e. BA required with MBA preferred, other graduate degree potentially acceptable or equivalent work experience etc. Must have a keen interest in Strategic Buying. If you have experience working within a Manufacturing environment that would be a plus!

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Senior Strategic Buyer will include:
- Responsible for the development of local sourcing strategies for allocated commodities taking due account of stakeholder mapping, spend analysis, understanding of current and future demands, supplier improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans in order to secure business continuity.
- Negotiate best practice terms with suppliers.
What experience you need to be the successful Senior Strategic Buyer:
- Previous Buying or Category Management experience ideally for direct materials and within a Manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience of working with purchasing systems
- BA required with MBA preferred, other graduate degree potentially acceptable or equivalent work experience
- Experience with contract management and awareness and understanding of contractual law
