Job Summary for the Site Utilites Manager:

As the Site Utilities Manager, you will manage the condition and efficiency of all site support services.
You will "act" as the responsible person (RP) for all utility based statutory requirements as well as contributing to the utility parts of the site masterplan.
You will also be responsible for the site energy management and efficiency programme.

Role Dimensions for the Site Utilities Manager:

Reports to the "acting" Head of Maintenance, Utilities & Facilities, will have budget responsbilities for site utilities
Direct report will include Senior Utilities Technician but will also need to influence key members of the site to ensure effective support is given.

Key Responsibilities for the Site Utilies Manager:

Budgetary Control
Prepare, monitor and review budgets for Utilities cost centre demonstrating clear savings inline with site challenges and operational forecasts.

Contribute to the Site Master Plan advising on future energy, legislative and utilities requirements eg for any new facility

Manage the site responsible persons matrix and take on a number of the statutory responsible persons roles where they relate to utilities.
Understand and communicate Corporate Engineering standards and strategies relating to Energy and Services ensuring site compliance.
Manage the physical recommendations for the Loss Prevention programme stemming from FM Global site visits

Manage the site energy management systems and improvement programme.
Lead on corporate social responsibility issues for the site in relation to Carbon reduction and energy efficiency researching new energy methods.
Identify develop and deploy energy saving projects, including renewable energy generation where possible.
Monitor, analyse and report on energy consumption and publish site performance reports.
Represent the Haverhill site at Sanofi Energy forums, reporting and delivering on proposed saving initiatives.
Drive and Influence energy awareness within the organisation wider than just the site.

Site Services
Provide leadership in the optimal running of all site utilities introducing efficiency programmes, developing KPI's and identifying future strategies for energy conservation
Develop the asset replacement strategy for the site support services and develop a long range capital plan to execute this.
Execute capital projects where they relate to site support services.
Carrying out site utility inspections, energy surveys and audits to evaluate costs or conservation measure.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the Site Utilities Manager:

  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Data analysis using statistical tools
  • Excellent problem solveing abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the practical application of continuous improvement

Qualifications Required for the Site Utilities Manager:

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Desirable - Knowledge / understanding of:
  • Pressure Safety System Regulations
  • Legionella Mangement & Water Systems
  • Boilers & Steam Systems &/or BOAS Training
  • Climate Change Levy / CIABATA / Energy Data Recording
  • CHPQA - Data Management
  • Contractor / Specialists Service Contract Management
  • F-Gas / Refrigerant Registers
