Brief

Software Engineer needed for a multinational defence and aerospace organisation based in Wiltshire who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Software Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of the following scripting languages; JavaScript, PowerShell, VBScript, SQL, Windows Batch / CMD.

The successful candidate would desirably have experience of fault-finding web-based, database technologies and complimentary operating systems and be proficient in all MS Office applications.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Software Engineer will include:

• Troubleshooting and responding to user issues and questions
• Daily communication with key internal & external stakeholders
• MS SQL Server administration
• Management of backups and restoring when necessary
• Management of production data warehouse including exports, ETLs and data cubes

What experience you need to be the successful Software Engineer:

• Must be eligible for SC Clearance
• Knowledge of the following web server applications: IIS, JBoss, Apache Tomcat
• Practical knowledge of Relational Database Administration applications in: Microsoft SQL Server, SQLPlus, Oracle
• Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware
• Practical knowledge of Windows Server administration.
• Practical knowledge of Windows 7/10 administration
