Solutions Engineer - Renewable Energy
Fully remote - With travel across the UK when needed
Brief
Solutions Engineer needed for a well-known multinational utility's organisation. This role can be based fully remote but the occasional travel will be required around the UK when needed. My client is looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Solutions Engineer that takes pride in their work.
The successful candidate will become a key member of the Energy Services development team, working alongside, and supporting business development managers by providing specialist technical and engineering front-end expertise, commercial modelling analysis and advice.

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Solutions Engineer will include:
- To undertake early-stage technical feasibility of client-focused renewable energy development projects, including initial system design and sizing, yield analysis, electrical connection, and commercial analysis.
- Identify and manage the mitigation of technical constraints to the development of renewable energy projects.
- Take a lead role in the management and coordination of technical consultants and EPC and O&M subcontractors.
- Advise the development team on the renewable energy technologies that the business may deploy on its projects, including onshore wind, solar (ground mount, rooftop, carports and floating).
- Develop and maintain project costing models to be used as early development stage decision-making tools and to inform the commercial optimisation of development projects.;
- Undertake data reviews/audits and implement quality control procedures in accordance with business quality procedures
What experience you need to be the successful Solutions Engineer:
- Strong problem-solving skills - solving technical constraints to a project's development progress, mitigating technical objections to projects.
- Demonstrable day-to-day knowledge of energy production analysis
- Expert knowledge of key software packages including PVSyst, Helioscope, Windfarmer and MS Office
- Able to advise on the commercial parameters of renewable energy development and operation.
- A strong commercial background in renewables
