Would you like to work in a role developing underwater acoustics systems? We currently have a fantastic vacancy for a Systems Engineer within one of the UK's biggest Engineering companies.
In this Systems Engineer position you will be working as part of a team of other systems engineers to develop a brand new Signature Management System for highly advanced submarine platforms. You will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage requirements and enhance the development and maturity of the new system.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to progress within a specialist combat systems domain, whilst working alongside cutting edge technology.
Your main responsibilities as a Systems Engineer will involve:
Produce design documentation which includes but not limited to: design descriptions, tech notes, ICDs and specifications.
Overseeing the development of submarine system technology updates and design improvements
Liaising with the Engineering Manager and submarine system Technical Authorities in the development of the requirements and designs
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure system requirements are adequately supported through planning, delivery dates, installation and integration activities.
Liaising with the bid team to develop supporting documentation with technical management of equipment suppliers
Providing realistic programme status, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans
Providing support to non-functional requirement owners, e.g. Safety Engineering, Information Assurance, ILS etc.
As a Systems Engineer your skills will include:
Demonstrable systems engineering experience, including system design work, producing design artefacts, and managing requirements.
Experience of working with the DOORS software package for requirements management
Desirable skills and qualifications:
Degree level qualification in relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience of Engineering lifecycle management including reviews
Prior defence or combat system experience
