Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer needed for a leading multi-industry consultancy in the energy sector based in Bristol (Hybrid). Their work includes projects within the renewable power, nuclear power, hydrogen, defense and government sectors.
Our client is looking for someone that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of finding practical solutions to fluid engineering and ventilation challenges. A Systems Engineer will have a solid understanding of practical thermofluidic mechanics and experience in delivering solutions in the nuclear industry. The successful Systems Engineer candidate will be educated to degree level, with the ability to perform fluids and thermal hand calculations as well as system level flow assurance assessments.
Due to the nature of the work, potential candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy security clearance criteria.

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Systems Engineer will include:
* A demonstrable track record of delivering fluid and/or ventilation system engineering, including activities such as understanding requirements, performing detailed analysis
* Proven ability to use excellent communication skills to engage effectively with project stakeholders
* A solid understanding of practical thermofluid mechanics, gained from a Master's Degree in Engineering, a PhD, or a similar level of training, to perform fluids and thermal hand calculations and system level flow assurance assessment
* Experience of delivering solutions in the nuclear industry or other high assurance industries
Desirable experience you need to be a successful Systems Engineer:
* A track record of successfully delivering consultancy services in the nuclear industry
* Experience of working with nuclear technologies such as PWRs, advanced nuclear technologies
* Experience of using detailed modelling approaches such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to understand complex flow fields and heat transfer
