Technical Project Manager needed for an industry leading IT & Telecoms Solutions organisation based in West Sussex who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Technical Project Manager that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of software development & business change
The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant or equivalent professional experience and have a keen interest in IT & Telecoms. If you have previous experience as a Scrum Master that would be a plus!

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Technical Project Manager will include:
Workstack management/project intake
- Discussing potential projects and scope with business stakeholders, BAs and the development team to agree approach and timescales
- Ensure schedules allow for sufficient pre-work with stakeholders to understand requirements, ensuring scope and approach is clear ahead of planned development start dates
- Proactively work with stakeholders to remove any issues or blockers ahead of time, ensuring no slippages
- Weekly project reporting and insight, communicating strategy/plan to stakeholders and wider audiences.
Delivery Management
- Ensure that the development team have appropriate specifications, direction and resources to deliver effectively
- Deliver plans on schedule and to expectations, managing exceptions proactively to minimise slippage or overruns
- Work with business stakeholders to ensure business outcomes are effectively met by delivering software in a predictable manner taking account of commercial impact.
- Guide and monitor 3rd party (outsourced) software development as required
- Track change requests and manage agreed scope and schedule changes, communicating these accordingly
Process Improvement
- Identify and track common issues impacting the software delivery, highlighting these for discussion with appropriate teams, with a goal of removing or reducing the impact of any such issues
- Ensure the reasons and impact of any changes in scope or schedule are clearly tracked
What experience you need to be the successful Technical Project Manager:
- 3+ years of prior experience as a project manager or scrum master working with a bespoke software development team
- Good working knowledge of project estimation techniques
- Strong attention to detail
- Multi-tasking skills
- Proven ability to bring structure to a piece of work
- Excellent communication skills
