Test Engineer needed for a world leader in the design and manufacture of high precision electromagnetic devices for customers in the health care and science sectors based in Storrington. Looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Test Engineer that takes pride in their work undertaking tasks.

Some of the main duties of the Welder/Fabricator will include:

• To be responsible for testing superconducting magnets
• To perform vacuum leak testing, calibrations, setting up equipment, cooling the magnet to liquid helium temperature and energising and shimming the magnet
• Liaising with the design engineers to ensure all tests are completed satisfactorily
• Commission the magnets at customer sites (worldwide). This will also include overseeing the delivery of the magnet to site. Locating the magnet in the correct position, cabling, pumping, cool-down, energising and shimming

Requirements

• Ability to work for extended periods with little to no supervision
• Proficient with the use of power and hand tools
• Proficient in the reading and understanding of technical prints and drawings
• Proficient in documentation of assembly process
• Experience with Cryo coolers, Cryogens, high vacuum, compressed gas, Helium leak testing is an advantage
