Trainee Accountant needed - Based in Loudwater - Permanent position

Currently I am recruiting for a Trainee Accountant to join my client's team based in Loudwater. I'm looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Accountant that wants to kick start their accountancy career at one of the world's most successful defence companies.

Some of the main duties of the successful Trainee Accountant will include:

  • Working closely with HR to provide accurate Headcount reporting and analysis
  • Preparing and managing recurring journals for share options, prepayments, bonus, NI
  • Preparing Adhoc journals to support the month end process
  • Completing returns for National Statistics, EC Sales and Intrastat reporting
  • Coding invoices including any shared service centre invoices to both Projects and Overheads
  • Processing Barclaycard and Purchasing card expenses and preparing the monthly Barclaycard accrual
  • Preparing the GST return to be claimed by a sister company in Australia
  • Managing the Capex request process and maintaining a log of Fixed Assets
  • Taking part in stock cycle counts to verify stock balances in general ledger
  • Ensuring that requests for changes to the master data file on IFS for direct suppliers have followed correct procedure and making amendment to the system
  • Being a Coupa system expert and providing support and training to the Finance team and wider teams in the business
  • Adhoc support as required for the forecast and budgeting process
  • Adhoc support to the Business Control team

Required skills and experiences for the successful Trainee Accountant:

  • Studying towards an Accounting Professional Qualification or having studied a Business / Finance / Accounting degree
  • Computer literacy is essential - excellent excel skills ( =sumifs, =vlookups Pivot tables). Familiar with Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good communicator & attention to detail, focused well organised, calm under pressure
  • Ideally worked in a Finance office for 1-2 years
