Accountant needed for a highly reputable defence and aerospace organisation based in South Wales. As a Project Accountant, you will deliver an independent review of the cost and performance of the project or group of projects area, providing sound financial support and advice, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers and evaluating processes to ensure that robust, relevant and adequate financial controls are in place.

The specific job description of the Accountant:

The Accountant will:

• Deliver accurate and consistent project reporting information to meet the needs of the project team and finance management
• Monitor and forecast financial and cash performance, providing independent and robust financial challenge.
• Supporting annual Integrated Business Planning process (IBP).
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers, including internal and external audit
• Reconcile the financial reports to the source ledgers to ensure integrity of the data provided.
• Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Adhering to and supporting all Financial Governance, Audits, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) and wider Systems processes.

The skills required as the Accountant:

The Accountant will need:

• Proficient in Microsoft Packages including Excel
• Prior experience in consolidating financial information into management reports
• Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant or individual qualified by experience, and will typically have a degree.
• Experience using SAP would be beneficial
