The Company
My client is a growing biotech who specialises in sequencing, creating and production of recombinant antibodies and have grown since the companies inception in 2012. The company is widely recognised within the industry and at the forefront of the movement to make recombinant antibodies more readily available to all and remain the only company 100% focussed on this technology
The Opportunity
A new role which will give the right candidate the chance to establish and develop the companies analytical department from its inception, designing, developing and validating methods for use to ensure the companies high standards are maintained. This role was formerly covered by other scientists within the buiness, but since the growth of the companies already substantial client base, it now needs a dedicated analytical service.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be responsible for both the analysis of both in process and finished product. Being a new role, the candidate will need substantial (four years plus) experience gained in a biotech or pharma lab working to regulated standards such as GMP or ISO 9001 and have the ability to not only run the analytical processes and interpret results but also be able to compile results from a variety of tests and present them to line management, clients or other stake holders.
In addition to a strong knowledge of mAB stucture, the successful candidate will be skilled in the use of HPLC, SDS-Page and UV -Spectrophotometry and be experienced at developing, troubleshooting and validating a variety of testing methods. Knowledge of endotoxin testing would be desirable. They must have a strong understanding of core laboratory techniques and protocols and be able to organise/ prioritise their own workload in a busy laboratory environment.
