Assistant Buyer needed for a well-known leading defence organisation based in Bournemouth who are looking to employ an Assistant Buyer that takes pride in their work.
The successful candidate would desirably be a comfortable user of IT equipment such as Microsoft Office and have a keen interest in Assistant Buying and if you have experience in procurement or supply chain within a manufacturing environment (full training will be given) that would be a plus!

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Assistant Buyer will include:
- Negotiate and place orders with approved suppliers establishing the most favorable pricing, terms, quality and delivery.
- In conjunction with QA, coordination of return of defective items, or assemblies for upgrade, with suppliers of sub-contracted
- Continuous improvement including working closely with Project Management/Engineering on new projects to provide supply chain solutions facilitating robust and cost-effective products
- Supporting buyers with day-to-day activities to include costings required for the Sales teams.
What experience you need to be the successful Assistant Buyer:
- Comfortable user of IT equipment and programs such as Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
