Inside IR35 - FULLY REMOTE
I am recruiting for a contract CAD Design Engineer to be fully remote for a global client of mine.
As a CAD Design Engineer, you will have advanced knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software including Revit along with previous experience of Data Centre design and OSP / ISP fibre detailed design.
CAD Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, documents and adhere to Client design requirements. Document network infrastructure and assist in maintaining accuracy in all required documentation and systems.
- Draft CAD drawings in accordance with design standards and in accordance with architectural, civil, and structural engineering principles and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with document control teams to manage all Project documents during a Project lifecycle.
- Deliver POP site plans in design standard format.
- Output documentation to Edge repositories with version controls. Produce regular reports on completed CAD documentation.
- Provide design lead with updates on progress and roadblocks.
- Participate in developing process improvement concepts.
- Assist Project teams with scope requirements, content creation and coordination efforts.
- Output documentation to Edge repositories with version controls. Produce regular reports on completed CAD documentation.
- Review designs for quality and cost improvements.
- Data Center CAD Engineering Services.
- Understand project milestones. Monitor status of milestones and provide regular updates.
- Help maintain project records and files.
- Support QC and as built efforts with design changes/updates.
CAD Design Engineer Required Skills:

CAD Design Engineer Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering technology or sciences preferred or any other degree, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual uniquely qualified to perform the job responsibilities preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years related work experience in OSP and/or ISP fibre detailed design. Highly preferred 5+ years' experience.
- Highly proficient in AutoCAD (experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or AutoCAD MAP3D a plus).
- Experience in interpreting client request and apply design standards to work product.
- Familiar with construction focused on fibre builds.
- Knowledge/experience with Web Applications and the CAD design domain.
- Strong Interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
- Flexible and able to think quickly working to resolve design issues and makes decisions.
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Functions as a technical specialist with minimal supervision
