Travel: Northwest - National Travel (Overnight stay 50/50)
Salary: Up to £55k DOE plus overtime

Overview: Join an award-winning renewable Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and generator specialist based in Wirral, as we expand our team to meet growing demand. Our innovative power generation systems, ranging from 5kWe to 2.5mWe, are critical in providing zero-carbon energy solutions across the UK. As a Power Generator/CHP Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the maintenance and project teams nationwide, ensuring the reliability and safety of our cutting-edge CHP units and generators.
CHP Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical installations, control panel upgrades, fault finding, and repairs for CHP units and generators.
- Conduct electrical and safety inspections, fault diagnosis, and on-site repairs, including control systems, inverters, pumps, and emission treatment equipment.
- Collaborate with mechanical teams, ensuring safe working conditions and adherence to RAMS and Dynamic Risk Assessments.
- Install additional electrical equipment, carry out annual electrical services, and assist in the installation and removal of control systems and switchgear.
- Participate in the on-call rota, maintain service van readiness, and support workshop engineering as needed.
- Mentor apprentices and young engineers, contribute to system improvements, and engage in regular skills testing.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Recognised apprenticeship in electrical installation/maintenance with at least 3 years' experience in a field-based role within the power generation industry.
- 18th edition qualification (City and Guilds 2382-18) is essential; inspection and testing qualification (City and Guilds 2391) is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) for reporting and communication.
- Full UK driving licence and the ability to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate.
