Cloud Network Engineer - Amsterdam

The Cloud Networking Engineer is responsible for the delivery of high-quality services within the Operations group, working with various technologies, services and vendors to support the organisation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that operational services are functioning in accordance with agreed service levels
  • Leading troubleshooting in the incumbent's areas of expertise
  • Ensuring that all infrastructure that is supported adheres to agreed security patch levels

Key Accountabilities :

  • 10% : Vendors: Managing and working with vendors to ensure the best services are provided, supporting the organization
  • 30%: Service: Delivering operational excellence across the services managed
  • 10%: Budget: Monitoring and reporting on budgets for services and contracts and statements of work
  • 20%: Operational Excellence: Centralized performance and availability reporting for services provided
  • 15%: People: Ensuring that performance management when it comes to direct reports is meaningful and supportive
  • 15%: Collaboration: Working with teams, product management and leadership on continual improvements

Technical Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least five years' experience in a large enterprise-support environment
  • At least a bachelor's, and preferably a master's, in a field such as Computer Science, Information Technology/Security, or Systems Engineering
  • For Enterprise Networking generally: technical knowledge of routers, firewalls, load balancers, and proxy servers
  • For Azure Networking in particular: technical knowledge of routers, firewalls, network security groups, load balancers, and proxy servers
  • Required technical knowledge (Enterprise Identity Management): knowledge of all authentication protocols
  • Plus: experience in Azure Application Gateway


  • Excellent communications skills in English, the ability to clearly and simply convey information to stakeholders in a way that is meaningful and that achieves the desired outcome.
  • Ability to analyse situations rigorously, logically, and systematically
  • Ability to work with people from many different cultural backgrounds
  • Experience working with, and leading, geographically dispersed virtual teams

Knowledge and experience:

  • At least five years' experience in a large enterprise-support environment
  • Experience in service-lifecycle management products and services
  • A proven track record ensuring the proper functioning of operational services
  • Understanding of, and practical experience with, ITIL processes
