An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager with solid civil engineering and main contracting experience to join a leading main contractor on a major infrastructure project in Bristol. The Commercial Manager will be taking overall responsibility for the sound commercial delivery of the project which is currently onsite and runs until early 2022.
The Commercial Manager will be tasked with developing a small team of 4 Quantity Surveyors & Senior Quantity Surveyors whilst also working closely with the engineering and project delivery teams, the clients own project team and the contractors senior management team. This is a challenging project and as such, it's incredibly important that Commercial Managers considering the role have strong reporting skills, a strategic approach to the commercial delivery of large projects and a solid understanding of the NEC suite of contracts. Some of your additional duties & responsibilities will include:
- Leading team meetings on a regular scheduled basis
- Identify and manage risk and opportunities
- Collate, analyse and challenge CVRs and implement actions where required
- Maximise the projects cash position
- Design & implement a commercial strategy
- Coordinate with the senior management team
- Act as a mentor to the rest of the project team
