Commercial Manager needed for a well-established utilities and construction organization. The Commercial Manager will work with the Senior Commercial Manager in leading negotiations in high-level bids and mobilisations. They will provide contract commercial management service along with supporting growth within the sector on the existing contracts as well as supporting the business development initiative.

The specific job description of the Commercial Manager:

The Commercial Manager will:

• Identifying, monitoring and reporting on risks.
• Supporting the management and mitigation of risks at all levels (operational, financial, commercial, technical, etc).
• Repository for confidential/commercially sensitive information.
• Leading governance within the contracts to ensure that the requirements of the contract are being complied with.
• Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among all other colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services etc.).
• Assisting in the search for efficiencies and service optimisation.
• Enforcing commercial compliance
• Carry out CVR reporting for any bespoke major projects that do not relate to any main contract terms and conditions.
• The requirement to ensure full commercial governance to all subcontractors
• Maintaining a 'Culture of Privacy' across the UK & Ireland business unit by responding to Privacy queries, auditing Operations to ensure compliance with privacy policies and procedures and carry out DPIAs where necessary.
• Investigate data breaches and compile comprehensive Breach Reports where necessary, including a methodology and lessons learned for presentation to the Executive Board.
• Provide practical support on all Privacy requests from Data Subjects (SARs, amendment, erasure, limitation, etc.) and support in responding to regulator queries.

Skills and experience of the Commercial Manager:

The qualities that would be beneficial for the Commercial Manager:

• Suitable commercial experience within a similar industry sector
• Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Law, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or the Built Environment (FM, Land).
• Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial (Construction Act etc).
• Ideally a member or training to be member of a chartered institution.
• Excellent communicator
• Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy
• Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment
• Sound understanding of risk analysis/management
• PC Literate with Expert knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel
• Thorough knowledge and experience of Business Assurance systems.
