Are you a driven and experienced Commercial Manager looking to make a significant impact in the M&E industry? Join the team in Birkenhead and play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of innovative engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
As the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for driving commercial strategies within the team. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing resources (both people and finance) and delivering a high standard throughout tendering, negotiation and commercial delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contract Management: Oversee commercial contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance, and maximizing cost-effectiveness. Evaluate, review, and manage commercial and contractual risks while facilitating the authorisation and submission of project variations.
- Team Management: Oversee and lead the Quantity Surveying team within the department.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, to ensure a positive and collaborative working environment whilst delivering periodic reporting requirements within deadlines provided.
- Budgeting and Financial Analysis: Develop budgets and conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and maintain financial efficiency. Optimize cash flow by closely monitoring, measuring, and valuating project progress, as well as efficiently handling customer invoicing and supplier payments.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and ensure adherence to relevant legal and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- Experience: Experience in senior commercial role, preferably within the mechanical & electrical sector within an industrial or factory environment.
- Education: Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or similar.
- NEC Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the NEC Suite of Contracts
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and use insights to drive business decisions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.
