A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to take on the lead commercial role for one of the UK's oldest piling contractors. Established nearly 60 years ago, my client's business is part of a much large group with yearly revenues in excess of £1.3bn. They work across the country on a wide array of projects from major infrastructure projects such as HS2 and Crossrail through to the construction of new offices and high rise residential towers.

The Commercial Manager will be taking full responsibility for the commercial management of this growing business unit which that has a current turnover of more than £10m a year. You'll be responsible for the overall commercial success of each project, reviewing and agreeing contract terms, identifying and mitigating commercial risks, working throughout the pre-start phase of each project and reporting on the commercial performance to the senior leadership team. You'll be working closely with site teams, offering commercial advice and guidance where required and assisting with the development of others within the team.

My client is keen to speak with experienced surveyors working at either Senior QS or Managing QS level who are ready for that next step up in their careers. You'll need to be commercially astute with a proven background in the UK's civil engineering or building sectors. You'll need a keen eye for detail, excellent knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts and be driven, a quick thinker and keen to develop your career.
