Commissioning Coordinator

Buckinghamshire - Hybrid


Commissioning Coordinator needed for a well-known full fibre broadband provider organisation based in Buckinghamshire. My client is looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Commissioning Coordinator that takes pride in their work. You must have a strong understanding of the FTTP network, design fibre network experience (QGIS or ArcGis), Openreach knowledge and hold a UK valid driving license.

The successful candidate would also need to have experience in fibre quality checks and commissioning and have a keen interest in becoming an Commissioning Coordinator. If you have ability to read SLD and plans that would be a plus!


  • Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Commissioning Coordinator will include:

  • Commissioning Co-ordinators will be responsible for quality and integrity of the network.
  • Able to use IQGEO (or relevant system as deemed by the client) to update and maintain the network inventory records
  • Audit records verification and asset registration to enable the successful customer orders.
  • Quality gatekeepers to ensure the quality of the network.
  • Manage the lifecycle of requests for design changes via Sharepoint (or relevant system as deemed by the client)
  • To understand and apply the clients design rules to maintain network integrity
  • Build close working relationships with Construction PMs and Heads-offs to enable efficient progression of design changes and RFS
  • Contribute towards the evolution of the clients design rules through feedback and experience
  • To work as part of team towards its goals and KPIs in relation to design changes
  • Responsible for light loss measurement authentication prior to network RFS
  • To be a team player which includes assisting others in their development and knowledge sharing which may include specific training requests

What experience you need to be the successful Commissioning Coordinator:

  • Strong understanding on various FTTP/FTTH Network Architecture
  • Understanding of Desk & Field based (mobile) GIS Design Software's
  • Extensive experience in fibre quality checks and commissioning
  • Work experience using IQGeo or other similar GIS platforms to design fibre networks (e.g Qfield / ArcGis)
  • Demonstrable experience of managing change to network designs and how to accurately record and communicate the impact of that change
  • In depth knowledge of the Openreach Network is essential
  • Ability to read SLD and plans
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Excel, Powerpoint and Project.
  • Full Driving License that permits you to drive a vehicle in the UK
