Job Title: Contracts Manager
Location: South London
Salary: £70,000 to £90,000 + car/travel allowance, 27 days annual leave & more

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join a busy, privately owned main contractor at their offices in South London. The Contracts Manager will be joining an experienced team, specialising in refurbishment and fit out projects for private and public sector clients in London & the South East. These projects typically have contract values of £2m to £8m and are often within the healthcare, education, commercial, leisure and residential sectors.

Some of the Contracts Managers key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Lead a small team of project managers and quantity surveyors, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
• Oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Director to develop and implement project strategies, plans, and objectives.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate them.
• Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and control project costs, budgets, and financial performance, working closely with the quantity surveyors to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the industry, staying up-to-date with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on the education, healthcare, leisure, and commercial sectors.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent project management abilities, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Sound knowledge of contract management, including contract negotiation, administration, and risk management.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficient in using project management software and tools.
• Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field are highly desirable.
