Design Manager (Utilities/Infrastructure)

£65,000 to £70,000 + travel allowance, healthcare etc.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering the main line works for HS2 in London. The Design Manager will be joining a team delivering major utilities works including the relocation of existing gas, power & water assets and the construction of new assets across the network. These are high value projects, often with build costs of £10m to £30m.

Some of the Design Managers key duties will include:

• Adding valuable utilities experience to the design activities, shaping the utility works associated with the main works proposals
• Work closely with the Utility Managers to create and manage designs for assets across the programme
• Maintain utility asset design schedules and provide updates to the wider team as required
• Produce realistic design deliverables that can be taken to the market to provide pricing and programme information
• Understand and interpret the client and JV partners environment policies, processes and statutory requirements

Design Managers considering this position will need to be able to demonstrate previous public utility experience and have a solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, utility drawings and models. You'll also need to have worked within the UK within the past 2 years and live within a reasonable commute of West London.
