What are we looking for in our next Design Office Lead?
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including architectural modelling (business through to technical) and the ability to present complex technical material to non-technical stakeholders and to deliver rigorous accurate reports to programme and enterprise leadership.
- Experience of working with Kanban and Scrum in an Agile or Scaled Agile (e.g., SAFe) DevOps environment.
- Strong technical and engineering level experience of:
- Software Defined datacentre architectures, specifically using VMWare technologies such as NSX v4, vSAN, Horizon.
- Windows and Linux based enterprise environments for core services (PKI, IdAM, DNS, NTP, Mailflow, Security management and performance monitoring) and application hosting services
- Software design, automation design and DevSecOps delivery models
- Physical infrastructure design, specifically in the network edge environment with low Size, Weight and Power constraints
- Network engineering, service resilience, Quality of service and traffic engineering
- Service Operations at the network edge, incorporating DDIL, high latency and low bandwidth contexts
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, the ability to listen to the thoughts and ideas of others and to proactively solve problems and propose well considered new ideas, influencing and advising stakeholders on technology solutions.
- Competency in MoD Information Systems, MS Office Suite and experience of the Atlassian toolset (JIRA and Confluence) to record and document work.
