Electrical Design Engineer required for a turn-key, industrial automation solutions provider, offering bespoke controls designs within the material handling industry.

The Electrical Design Engineer plays a vital role in the deployment of material handling systems, delivering design and engineering safety software, including PLC, SCADA and HMI software and hardware. You will be working day to day with the company directors and communicating directly with clients. The role is based in London however the successful Electrical Design Engineer will have the option to work remotely, setting your own agenda to meet deadlines.

The responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer are:

• Translate customer requirements into a functional PLC and safety designs, with strong multidisciplinary awareness including EM, IT and SCADA.
• Design, configure, test, validate and commission PLC and Safety system software logic and systems.
• Experience utilising standards (EN ISO 13850: 2015, EN ISO 13849-1:2015, EN 60204-1:2018) and machinery directive in safety system design.
• Perform debug and buyoff of controls functions and systems.
• Integrate/interface 3rd party equipment.
• Design and develop control panels and manufacturing equipment.
• Design electrical and control wiring schematics.
• HMI design and programming.
• Understand / Develop and Produce, Health and Safety Design Risk Assessments for Automated solutions to BS EN ISO 12100.

What experience the Electrical Design Engineer must have:

• 5+ Years of experience in material handling, automation, machine design or complex data collection experience
• PLC programming and development strong knowledge of ladder logic: Contrologix or Siemens a plus
• Schematic and hardware design
