Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager needed for a growing and well-known full fibre broadband provider organisation based in Exeter who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge in cultivating a safe, healthy workplace in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring adherence to relevant safety protocols.

The successful candidate must have experience in designing and implementing programs focusing on preventive measures and fostering a healthy lifestyle among employees.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager will include:

  • Cultivating a safe, healthy workplace in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring adherence to relevant safety protocols.
  • Develop and execute a robust Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) plan, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Design and implement programs focusing on preventive measures and fostering a healthy lifestyle among employees.
  • Maintain professional development standards.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Ensure organizational compliance with current health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Monitor and review internal HSW policies, offering guidance and making necessary policy changes.
  • Advise and guide personnel on HSW policies and procedures, setting high professional conduct standards.
  • Undertake site inspections, assist in risk assessments, and drive root cause analysis for accidents or incidents.

Risk Management and Audit:

  • Evaluate equipment against safety requirements, manage audits, and oversee ISO compliance audits.
  • Drive closure of findings and recommendations from inspections and audits.

  • Conduct accident and incident investigations, ensuring lessons learned are communicated effectively.

Wellbeing Initiatives:

  • Collaborate on developing a wellbeing strategy for employees, emphasising mental health support and holistic wellbeing.
  • Advise on occupational health relationships, ergonomics, and productivity initiatives.
  • Coordinate wellness screenings and health-related services, monitoring employee health records.
  • Implement strategies addressing workplace stress and mental health concerns.

Training and Reporting:

  • Ensure up to date HSW training for relevant parties, both on-site and remote.
  • Create and manage performance metrics, providing regular reports and leading review meetings.
  • Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Responsible for RIDDOR incident reporting and updating Risk Assessments across Business Units.
