The Role:
So, what will you be doing as an Airworthiness Engineer?
- Independent airworthiness assurance activity of design certification (qualification and safety) evidence in support of airworthiness certification for Development, Production and Export clearance programmes
- Airworthiness focal point for agreeing flight limitations with System Design Responsibility teams, Flight Operations and the external customers
- Establishing and producing Flight Certification (Military Permit to Fly) for Development and Production Aircraft
- Establishing and producing Flight Certification (Release to Service) for Export Customers
- Supporting continuous development and flight certification and design certification processes
- Supporting and representing Airworthiness at Typhoon/Tornado/Hawk/FCAS project meetings, including support to external customer meetings
- Liaising with Customers and senior Stakeholders on Airworthiness & Delivery matters (internal and external)
- Allocation of tasking to suitably qualified and experienced individuals within the team and may have people responsibilities (PDR, career development plans, aspirations etc)
What are we looking for in our next Airworthiness Engineer?
- Aircraft Avionic / Mechanical systems design / Aerodynamic disciplines knowledge
- Extensive experience within design configuration control processes
- Design certification (qualification and safety) and airworthiness processes
- Experience within aircraft operations in a large organisation (desirable)
- Analytical methods to support establishing integrated aircraft level flight limitations
