Real Estate Investment Analyst
London, £40k to £45k salary + discretionary bonus
London based investment firm focussing on real estate debt are currently growing the team and looking for a Real Estate focused Analyst who will work across UK and European transactions.
They are looking for a junior investment professional at the Analyst level 1 or 2 years of experience) to join their real estate debt investment team with the versatility to get involved with other aspects of the business.
The role would suit a highly analytical individual with excellent academic qualifications and a genuine interest in and experience with real estate investments.
The role will include research, financial analysis and transactions underwriting predominantly for real estate (mezz and senior) debt opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, amending and updating models (ranging in complexity) for RE Debt transactions; running scenarios on the models and producing outputs for external and internal purposes
- Creating new models based on ad hoc transactions
- Performing sensitivity and scenario analysis
- Performing analytical review on the integrity of internal models using complex formulas
- Executing quantitative deal analysis and ad hoc modelling
- Executing qualitative transaction analysis with the ability to form a sound opinion on the borrower and the property, by performing thorough Due Diligence on both, incl: Sector, geographical and economic evaluation to evaluate impact on transactions and portfolio
- Providing commercial and analytical support on key projects and initiatives and producing tools to analyse specific business opportunities
- Assessing new business opportunities and producing clear summaries to enable decision-making
- Producing clear and articulate marketing material such as teasers, presentations, and credit papers. This will include elements of research and information collation
- Collating data for and assisting in the preparation of Credit Committee reports
- Attending and actively contributing to internal and external project meetings
- Supporting commercial negotiations, client proposals and presentations
- Developing relationships with clients and funding partners
- Liaising with legal and professional advisors
What we are looking for in your application:
- A strong academic background
- Prior experience in Real Estate debt would be a plus
- Robust financial analysis and financial modelling skills
- Strong analytical, quantitative, qualitative and verbal communication skills
- An affinity to working in a small team where you will be exposed to all aspects of the business
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
