Junior Safety Engineer position available with a leading Engineering organisation that operate in the UK Defence sector and are growing their safety team, this is your chance to get a position in a very important skillset that will always be in high demand and learn, learn learn !
You will assist in the production and delivery of safety artefacts to support defence contracts. As a Junior Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of safety projects to time, cost and quality.
Responsibilities
- Undertake work, as directed by the Safety & Environmental Lead Engineer, as part of the safety and environmental team.
- Assist in the production of safety artefacts following the guidance in a range of applicable standards.
- Assist in the delivery of safety projects to time, cost and quality.
- Follow the procedures in the company's Safety & Environmental Management System to the level of quality described in the Quality Management System.
- Support Project Safety and Environmental Committees (PSEC) - produce agendas, meeting arrangements, minutes and assist with precursor hazard reviews.
- Write Minutes from Safety Meetings extracting the key changes for updates to the Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECRs) and Product Safety Assessments.
- Assist with the Hazard Management Process.
- Update Safety Case reports and Product Safety Assessments to reflect changes identified in design updates or during safety meetings.
- Support the writing of new Safety Case Reports and Product Safety Assessments.
- Delivery of own aspects of project(s) to meet the client's needs and make the agreed level of contribution.
- Ensure own aspects of projects are delivered within the client's boundary and make the agreed level of margin contribution.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- A recognised technical qualification preferably in Engineering.
- Effective communication skills with Line Management and clients.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good report writing skills.
- Good communications.
- Analysis of technical data.
For this position you must be eligible for UK Military Clearance (a UK Passport Holder)
