Lead Calibration Engineer needed for an established engineering firm in Rochester, Kent.
What the role of the Lead Calibration Engineer entails:
- Ensuring Calibration tasks on the teams portfolio are completed satisfactorily and are traceable to National Standards
- Support the maintenance of test equipment, located on the shop floor
- Manage the performance of the team using appropriate tools & techniques
- Provide monthly reports and matrices on performance
- Provide & authorise monthly estimates for areas of responsibility
- Identifying and addressing the training and development requirements of the team
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Calibration team
- Co-ordinate with external calibration suppliers the calibration of equipment
- Interfacing with all other functions at all levels of the organisation
- Ensure UKAS accreditation maintained
What experience you need to be the successful Lead Calibration Engineer:
- Experienced in a Calibration environment
- Experience with UKAS 17025 or equivalent regulatory requirements
- Operationally and strategically minded and ability to build and maintain excellent business relationships across all levels within the business
Desirable:
- Previous Leadership experience
- Lean manufacturing knowledge
- Experience in Continuous Improvement techniques
- Understanding of measurement uncertainty
- HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Discipline
