Brief
M&E Technician needed for a well-known Facilities Management organisation based in London who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded M&E Technician that takes pride in their work with a background in working a range of maintenance tasks, including both Authorised Person (AP) and Competent Person (CP) duties, ensuring that all mechanical systems within the healthcare environment are operating safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate must be more so mechanical bias and hold a relevant mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent and have a keen interest in becoming an M&E Technician. If you have previously worked in a hospital environment that would be a plus!

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the M&E Technician will include:
- Carry out routine mechanical PPM on HVAC systems, boilers, water systems, and other building services equipment
- Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with regulatory standards and meet healthcare requirements
- Perform corrective maintenance and emergency repairs on mechanical systems and equipment as required
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring the smooth operation of vital healthcare facilities
- Diagnose and clear blockages in plumbing, drainage, and other systems that may impact the functionality of healthcare services
- Act as an Authorised Person for specific systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and carrying out works in accordance with safe systems of work
- Carry out CP duties across mechanical systems, ensuring that systems are safely isolated, maintained, and tested
- Participate in an on-call rota, providing emergency support during out-of-hours periods (1 week per month)
What experience you need to be the successful M&E Technician:
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role, ideally within a healthcare or critical infrastructure environment
- Competency in mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and repair on HVAC, plumbing, boilers, and other mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and the ability to implement safe working practices
- Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital environment (Desirable)
- Valid Driving License (Desirable)
