Managing Quantity Surveyor
£65,000 to £70,000 + £8,000 car & package
I have an opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's leading infrastructure contractors with a specialist business unit focused on delivering work for clients including UKPN, SSE & National Grid. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will be given an opportunity that includes the chance to run your own projects, support to get chartered through the RICS, a competitive salary & package and the support and guidance of an approachable and experienced senior management team.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager of their power business, you'll be tasked with taking the lead on the day to day commercial management of a portfolio of projects for clients including UKPN & National Grid. You'll find yourself regularly working with the client and supporting your site teams on projects that include the design, supply, installation, refurbishment and maintenance of assets including tunnels, ventilation systems and substations across the network with existing sites across the capital and new work in the pipeline.
As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be instrumental in the successful delivery of the contracts which in turn will ensure repeat work from two key clients. You'll be given the support to pursue chartership with the RICS, the opportunity to take full control of your project and a competitive salary & package that includes:
- Starting salary of up to £70,000
- Company car or car allowance of £8,000
- 27 days annual leave
- Private pension contributions
- Private healthcare
- Payment of professional fees
Managing Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have experience working for a main contractor and familiar with large utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering projects. You'll need to be confident working with clients, have a strong understanding on the NEC contract and excellent communication skills. You'll also need to have a degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management and happy to split your time between their office in London and site locations across the capital.
