Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer required for a rapidly growing company based just outside East Grinstead, with a strong reputation in the design, assembly and supply of bespoke pneumatic technologies and compressed air equipment. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and organisational and project management skills as you will be working across multiple exciting projects at once.

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally hold an HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronics and have a minimum of 1 year work experience in a similar type role. A good working knowledge of 3D CAD and SolidWorks is highly desirable.

Some of the responsibilities if the Mechanical Design Engineer include:

• Reporting directly and working alongside the engineering manager to develop new and existing products.
• Be responsible for costings, ensuring the technical and commercial criteria is being met
• Liaising with the customers throughout this process on costings and lead times to adhere to project specifications.
• Responsible for project management, overseeing projects through from concept to manufacture.

What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Design Engineer:

• HNC / HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronics.
• Good Knowledge of 3D Cad - ideally SolidWorks.
• Minimum 1 year's engineering work experience in a similar type role.
• Pneumatics or Electronics knowledge is desirable, however product training will be provided.
• Strong organisational and project management skills are required
