The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Mechanical Engineer?
- Deliver high-quality mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations with minimal supervision.
- Perform both planned and reactive works on a range of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fabrication.
- Respond promptly to plant breakdowns and provide support during fire evacuations.
- Ensure full compliance with water treatment regulations (including L8).
- Participate in the on-call rota and offer cross-functional assistance to other service lines when required.
- Safely and efficiently maintain and operate mechanical plant equipment.
- Mentor and support Maintenance Assistants, Trainees, and Apprentices to develop their skills.
- Complete necessary training to achieve and maintain Authorised/Competent Person status in disciplines such as HVAC, Pressure Systems, F-Gas, and Water.
- Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
What are we looking for in our next Mechanical Engineer?
- Solid, hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and building services.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
- Sound knowledge of water hygiene standards (L8), HVAC systems, and pressure systems.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
- Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours callouts and willingness to perform cross-trade tasks when needed.
