The Role:
So, what will you be doing as a Mechanical Aircraft Technician?
- Assembles, disassembles, and modifies aerospace systems by altering, removing, replacing, or upgrading components to address failures or implement changes.
- Supervises the assembly, disassembly, and overhaul processes.
- Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
- Troubleshoots intricate pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify mechanical or electrical issues and repair defective components.
- Conducts validation and verification testing of systems and components.
- Documents procedures and established processes to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards (e.g., repairs, test results, modifications, and inspection outcomes). Inspects components to verify repairs meet flight-worthiness criteria.
- Operates under general supervision.
What are we looking for in our next Mechanical Aircraft Technician?
- Proven experience in aircraft structural assembly and sheet metal work.
- Proficiency in interpreting and working from engineering drawings.
- Strong hand skills for precise manual tasks.
- Experience with marking out, drilling, and riveting (solid and blind fasteners).
- Familiarity with the use of Hi-lock fasteners.
- Competence in bonding faying surfaces.
- Expertise in sheet metal fabrication and structural repair techniques.
- Ability to adapt to frequent engineering changes and updates.
- Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
