Plant Manager - AD plant (Biogas)

The company was formed in Germany in 2000 to become a leader in the construction and operation of anaerobic digestion ('AD' or 'biogas') plants. Over the last 20 years we have built and successfully commissioned over 300 AD plants, as well as several wind and solar projects. Currently, the group owns and operates over 26 AD plants and has built up an extensive infrastructure to optimise their performance, covering all elements of AD servicing, operations, and maintenance.

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Manager to oversee the operations of our biogas anaerobic digestion plant. The Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the plant, maximizing biogas production, and adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the biogas anaerobic digestion plant, including monitoring equipment performance, scheduling maintenance, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Manage plant personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation of staff.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to optimize biogas production and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including suppliers, regulatory agencies, and local communities.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and production schedules to meet operational goals and objectives.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the consistency and quality of biogas output.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in plant operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
  • At least 5 years proven experience in Plant management, preferably in the biogas or renewable energy industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations relevant to biogas production and anaerobic digestion processes.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve plant performance.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings as needed.
