An exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Embedded Electronics Engineer to take a leading role in the design and development of advanced electronics for cutting-edge maritime systems. You'll drive innovation across sonar, telemetry, and power amplification technologies-delivering reliable, high-performance solutions for complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and integration of bespoke digital and analogue electronics for above and underwater systems.
Develop high-bandwidth telemetry, data acquisition, and power amplification solutions.
Produce and review schematics, PCB layouts (Altium/OrCAD), and circuit simulations.
Define requirements, verify designs through testing, and ensure production readiness.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous capability development.
Collaborate across software, systems, and mechanical teams to solve challenging technical problems.
About You
Degree-qualified in Electronic Engineering or related field.
Strong background in PCB design and development.
Expertise in one or more areas:
High-speed digital design (LVDS, Ethernet)
FPGA/SoC development (VHDL)
Processor and embedded software design (C/C++, RTOS)
Analogue, power supply, or power amplifier design.
Familiarity with CE/UKCA compliance, EMC standards, and design for manufacturability.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Desirable
Experience with Matlab/Simulink.
Prior mentoring or technical leadership experience.
