Project Engineer.
6 Month Contract.
SC Clearance Required
Start Date: ASAP
Bristol / Hybrid - 3 days on site
This Contract position is for a Project Engineer reporting to a Project Engineering Manager. The role will assist the Chief Engineer by supporting the delivery of the programme objectives, ensuring that assigned activities are appropriately coordinated, managed and reported.
Key Tasks:
- Providing coordination to engineering teams representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
- Developing and maintaining Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs) to satisfy current and emerging programme requirements.
- Championing systems engineering best practice in the management of the programme requirements hierarchy, ensuring that requirements are of a good quality with an associated compliance verification strategy, are allocated appropriately, and have adequately traceability between the different requirement tiers.
- Working with programme leadership to obtain required approvals to ensure business continuity for tasks relating to the proposed delivery of the VL contracted service.
- Coordinating project proposal activities and ensuring the engineering leadership team are aware of proposal gate milestones and objectives.
- Identifying metrics and reporting to programme leadership to provide a status of functional performance.
- Comparing actual results to baseline plans to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
- Planning, identifying, and coordinating resources required to support the programme through the management of functional resource requirements and reporting into status reviews.
- Responding to changes to requirements, assessing the impact and negotiating proposed changes to determine modifications to deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
- Providing technical coordination for the development and execution of the project deliverables.
- The tailoring and application of engineering initiatives, best practices and quality processes.
- Contributing to Continuous Improvement.
- Risk, Issues and Opportunities management.
Skills and Experience
- A Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an engineering related field, with experience in requirements management for systems and / or services.
- Experience in Project Planning and Management; Excellent SE knowledge and skills, Good IT skills; Excellent Customer Facing Skills.
- Knowledge of the Helicopter technology, ideally miltary
- Registration with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer (IEng or CEng), or be able to demonstrate the ability to work towards IEng/CEng.
- Knowledge of Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA) Regulatory Articles.
Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance requiring 5 years continuous residency in the UK
