Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Battery Energy Storage Systems Project Manager / Grid Coordinator to join our planning team.
As a vital member, you will manage renewable energy projects, predominantly focusing on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Key responsibilities include identifying suitable sites, cultivating client relationships, coordinating planning applications, and ensuring project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project management of renewable energy sites, with a primary focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems
- Identify potential sites for BESS and drive pipeline growth initiatives
- Collaborate with clients, DNOs, Local Planning Authorities, and external consultants
- Utilize expertise in BESS to present compelling proposals internally and externally
- Coordinate and prepare EIA and non-EIA planning applications, including writing Environmental Statements and Planning Statements
- Conduct site visits to assess suitability for BESS installations
- Foster positive relationships with landowners and cultivate new client connections
- Engage with statutory and non-statutory consultees effectively
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and pre-application consultations
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- In-depth knowledge and experience in the renewable energy industry, particularly in BESS
- Proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD
- Associate membership of RTPI/IEMA would be advantageous
- Valid driving license
- Prior planning experience
- Methodical, accurate, and process-focused approach to project management
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional report-writing abilities
- Proficiency in Excel
