Quality Assurance Manager
£60,000 - £70,000 + Benefits.
Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager will ensure customer requirements, legal/contractual requirements and internal processes are incorporated in projects approach and processes; by providing professional and effective Quality Assurance leadership across multiple projects in the Transportation group.
In this role you will be Supporting the Project Director and working as a member of the Project Senior Management Team.
This is an important project role that is responsible for defining, managing and coordinating the Quality Assurance activities for the companies suite of products, services and support being provided to clients.
Relationships:
o Reporting to Project Director, functionally reporting to the Head of Quality
o Project team involving all functions e.g. Engineering, Assurance (both in the UK & other company locations)
o Head of Quality
o Corporate Quality teams
o Client HSQE Management team
o Client Quality Representatives
o Client Equipment Assurance Representatives
o Suppliers Quality and Management Representatives
Responsibilities and Tasks:
· To fully understand the clients requirements to enable the Project Quality Manager to represent 'the voice of the customer 'during internal discussions to maximise customer focus.
· Define and set up the Quality plans in phase of bids and project.
· Develop credible relationships across the project team to input into pragmatic solutions to eliminate / mitigate issues, risks. Knowing when it is appropriate to escalate topics.
· Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and reducing the cost of poor quality.
· Preparing monthly Quality statistics, trend analysis and improvement opportunities.
· Support Quality Systems Audits - Internally & externally - provide Risk Based Quality auditing approach.
· Supplier Quality performance monitoring and management in conjunction with procurement.
· Attend and present salient information at weekly and monthly senior contract reviews including customer meetings to present Quality trends and Opportunities, Threats, Issues & Success).
· Facilitate & coach on Root Cause Analysis activities across a wide range of topics on the project.
· Facilitate and develop improvement actions associated to Customer Satisfaction Surveys.
· Support local and corporate Business Improvement initiatives and programs; and cultivate continual improvement.
· To provide the quality support and maintain an effective operational relationship between Thales' Stakeholders including clients, consortiums, subcontractors, suppliers and the project team.

Excellent communication / relationship building skills
Experience:
Demonstrable experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control Management on Engineering projects (Rail, Aerospace, Defence, Automotive or Manufacturing).
Experience in auditing and process development/deployment
Demonstrable experience in management of teams and contractors
Acting as a Senior Management Team member
Experience and working knowledge of QUENSH and good understanding of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001, ISO44001 & ISO27001
Qualifications:
Graduate with relevant Quality or engineering discipline or HNC/HND level in an Engineering related discipline.
Quality Auditor
Related Professional Qualification and Membership of Associations (CQI / IRCA)
