Brief
Quality Inspector needed for a leading defence and aerospace organisation based in Stockbridge who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Quality Inspector that takes pride in their work. The ideal candidate would have previous aircraft maintenance experience and able to interpret drawings and maintenance plans.
The successful candidate would have a relevant degree such as an apprenticeship or a certified engineer.
What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Quality Inspector will include:
- Reviewing and validating product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.
- Performing analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations.
- Training and mentoring fellow employees in the Quality Management System.
- Applying knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.
- Perform root cause analysis on the non-conformance to identify the cause and prevent reoccurrence.
- Independently develop, modify and document actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action and documents resolution.
- Obtain corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes.
- Negotiating concurrence, obtaining commitments for taking preventive and corrective action, prioritize quality activities and ensures problem resolution.
- Review and validates the corrective action plans and identifies effectivity to ensure completion.
- Review and approving Quality planning changes or disposition of non-conformance hardware products/processes.
- Guide validation of configuration management, quality procedures and material review policies to deliver the software products.
- Developing software system processes to support changing industry standards.
- Reviewing and implementing corrective action on audit results to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering defined requirements.
- Interpret industry standards and provide recommendations for implementation.
- Create analytical reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal/external distribution. Works under general direction.
What experience you need to be the successful Quality Inspector
- Previous aircraft maintenance experience
- Experience of working on Chinooks would be a bonus however, experience working on other aircraft will be acceptable.
- Able to interpret drawings and maintenance plans.
- Auditing Experience (MRP 145, AS9100/9110)
