An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a large main contractor working on HS2 in Central London. You'll be joining a busy, professional team constructing a number of shafts, tunnels and caverns over the next 3 years on the largest construction project in Western Europe. The role promises security of work, the support of an approachable team and exposure to a technically challenging yet exciting project that will be great for your own personal development.
Based in Central London just a few minutes walk from where the main phase of construction is taking place, you'll be working closely with the engineers and site teams, overseeing the commercial delivery of the project from start to finish. Some of your duties will include:
- Cost control and cost forecasting
- Preparing and agreeing applications for payment
- Identifying and managing commercial risks
- Contract management
- Undertaking accurate record keeping
- Providing contractual advice to the site and project teams
- Attending site progress meetings
- Supporting the Senior QS with their responsibilities on the project
