An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's leading main contractors on a project in Hereford. The Quantity Surveyor will be joining the site team and play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects for a large, major client.
Working closely with the site based Commercial Manager, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for a number of sub-contractor packages, taking them from procurement through to negotiation and settlement of final accounts. Some of your key duties will include:
- Measure, record and value the work undertaken by subcontractors
- Maintain accurate records of the project and it's progress
- Provide value engineering solutions
- Agree contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Manage subcontract accounts
- Support any junior surveyors on the project where possible
- Provide commercial advice and guidance to the project team
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks
- Support the CM with the dispute resolution process

Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to live within the South West of the UK or South Wales and be willing to split their time between a local office and the site in Hereford. You'll also need to have worked in the UK for a main contractor on either building or civil engineering projects and have a solid understanding of main contracting methods of procurement, good contract knowledge and be driven and keen to develop your career.
